Ružica Church (Serbian: Црква Ружица/Crkva Ružica, tran. Little Rose Church) is a Serbian Orthodox church located in the Belgrade Fortress, in Belgrade, Serbia. A church of the same name existed on the site in the time of Stefan Lazarević. It was demolished in 1521 by the invading Ottoman Turks. The church was used as a gunpowder magazine in the 18th century, and was converted into a military church between 1867 and 1869. Heavily damaged during the First World War, the church was renovated in 1925 by Russian architect Nikolay Krasnov. The iconostasis was carved by Kosta Todorović, and the icons painted by Rafailo Momčilović. The walls were covered in paintings by Andrej Bicenko, a Russian artist.

Visit Belgrade Zoo at 13:00

  • Located at Kalemegdan Park
  • one of the odlest public zoos in southeastern Europe
  • plenty of animal specias available
  • included rare species such as white Siberian Tiger
  • Make sure to see a memorial statue of chimpanze Sami at the Zoo

Kalemegdan Park

Kalemegdan Park or simply Kalemegdan  is the largest park and the most important historical monument in Belgrade. It is located on a 125-metre-high (410 ft) cliff, at the junction of the River Sava and the Danube. Its name is formed from the two Turkish words: Kale (meaning “fortress”) and archaic word of Turkish origin megdan (meaning “battlefield”).
Kalemegdan Park, split in two as the Great and Little Parks, was developed in the area that once was the town field. It provides places of rest and entertainment. Belgrade Fortress and Kalemegdan Park together represent a cultural monument of exceptional importance (from 1979), the area where various sport, cultural and arts events take place, for all generations of Belgraders and numerous visitors of the city.

Belgrade Zoo

Beo zoo vrt (Serbian: Бео зоо врт), also known as Vrt dobre nade (Garden of good hope), is a zoo located in Kalemegdan Park, downtown of Belgrade, Serbia. Founded in 1936, it is considered to be one of the oldest public zoos in southeastern Europe. Nevertheless, it’s the biggest zoo in the country and most visited tourist attraction in Belgrade. The zoo covers an area of 7 hectares (17 acres) and holds about 1,700 animals representing more than 150 different wild and exotic species of animals as well as domestic and indigenous ones. Belgrade zoo officially applied for EAZA membership in 2017.

The Nikola Tesla Museum (Serbian: Музеј Николе Тесле / Muzej Nikole Tesle) is a science museum located in the central area of Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. It is dedicated to honoring and displaying the life and work of Nikola Tesla. It holds more than 160,000 original documents, over 2,000 books and journals, over 1,200 historical technical exhibits, over 1,500 photographs and photo plates of original, technical objects, instruments and apparatus, and over 1,000 plans and drawings.
