For a little bit of culture in Kuta head for Vihara Dharmayana which is also sometimes called Leeng Gwan Kuta Temple or Kongco Bio Kuta Chinese Temple. This is one of the main religious venues in Kuta and it sits in a leafy backstreet, but you will still be able to spot it from afar thanks to its ornate roof. Vihara Dharmayana is a Buddhist temple which is said to be over two centuries old and you will find intricate carvings here as well as colorful murals and a scenic courtyard which is covered in aromatic sticks of incense.

Day 2

Visit Upcycle Green Museum in Kuta at 11:00

Upcycle Green Museum in Kuta

Upcycle is a shop in Kuta but it also operates as a way of cleaning up and supporting the local community. The shop makes a range of items such as bags and purses but with a twist, as these are made from refuse such as cans and old vinyl records. As such you will find a huge range of unusual pieces here and you can go home with a one-of-a-kind item that also supports the local community and the precious environment in Kuta.

Beachwalk Shopping Mall in Kuta

If you want to go to the mall in Kuta then look no further than Beachwalk which runs along the main strip adjacent to the beach. The mall is one of the newest in the area and has everything you could want with a mix of international shops, restaurants, and cafes. Anyone looking for surfing gear will find a huge number of options here and there is also a gallery on the upper floor where you can find out more about Indonesian textiles. As well as the gallery you can also find some handicraft shops selling souvenirs and there is also a rooftop bar complete with resident DJ.

Day 3

Visit Armada Flow House at 13:00

Armada Flow House

Armada Flow House is a fun attraction if you like flow riding and want to give it a go in Kuta. The venue offers you waves no matter what time of day and you can either ride the synthetic surf on a body board or a flow board. As well as the dedicated lanes you can also have a bite to eat at the adjacent dining area which means that this is a great place to spend a day especially if you are traveling with children.

Day 4

Visit Warung Murah at 11:40

Warung Murah in Kuta

Kuta is packed with restaurants serving international fare but if you want to go local (as well you should) then opt for lunch at Warung Murah. This is one of the top local warungs in town and you can get traditional Indonesian food at low prices as Warung Murah actually means ‘Cheap Cafe’ in Indonesian. Some of the highlights include fish hot off the grill and served with rice and a few vegetable side dishes, or you can try the piping hot chicken satay with a side of spicy peanut sauce.

Day 5

Visit Kuta Beach at 10:00

Kuta Beach

Kuta Beach is one of the best places to enjoy Bali’s famous sunsets. Located on the island’s southwestern coast, you can enjoy sunbathing, surfing, swimming, and beach soccer throughout the year. Kuta’s main beach roads, Jalan Kartika Plaza and Jalan Pantai Kuta, are dotted with resorts, hotels, entertainment spots, shops, and a mix of restaurants and bars. Shopping options include Discovery Shopping Mall and the colourful Kuta Art Market. If you’re planning to surf in Bali, the waves at Kuta Beach suit beginner to advanced surfers.
